Privacy policy

When you use our website, various personal data is collected. Personal data is any data with which you could be personally identified. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. It also explains how this is done and for what purpose.

When collecting and processing personal data, we comply with the legal requirements of the applicable data protection laws. The legal basis is provided by art. 13 par. 1 of the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) or, where applicable, art. 6 par. 1 of the GDPR.

Our websites collect a series of data with each query. This general data and information is stored in the log files of the server. The following data is collected:

  • Time zone difference to GMT
  • Contents of the request
  • Access status/http status code
  • Amount of data transferred in each case
  • Web page from which the request originates
  • Browser (including language and version)
  • Operating system

This general data is not assigned to a specific person when used. Collection of this data is necessary for technical reasons in order to display our website and to ensure its stability and security.

This shall be without prejudice to any mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods. 

An anonymized string of characters, also known as a hash, can be created from your e-mail address and sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. The privacy policy ofthe Gravatar service can be found here: automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been released, your profile picture will be visible in the context of your comment.

3 SSL and/or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as inquiries you submit to us as the website operator, this website uses either an SSL or a TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by checking whether the address line of the browser switches from “http://” to “https://” and also by the lock icon in the browser line.

If the SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

4 Cookies

Our internet site uses what are known as cookies, which are small text files that are stored on your computer and can be accessed from there. 4.2 Google Maps

We use a plugin of the internet service Google Maps on our internet pages. The operator of Google Maps is Google. By using Google Maps on our website, information about the use of this website (including IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and also stored on this server. We have no knowledge of the exact content of the transmitted data, nor of its use by Google. Google may transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. If you deactivate Javascript in your browser, you prevent the execution of Google Maps. However, you will then not be able to use a map display on our website. 4.3 Google Adsense

This website uses Google AdSense, a service for integrating advertisements from Google. 4.5 Google Tag Manager

This website uses the Google Tag Manager provided by Google. This service enables website tags to be managed on an online interface. The Google Tag Manager only implements tags. This means that no cookies are used, and no personal data is collected. The Google Tag Manager triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. However, the Google Tag Manager does not access this data. In the event that domains or cookies have been disabled, this shall apply to all tracking tags, provided these were implemented with the Google Tag Manager.

4.6 Polyfill

On our website you can download Java-Script code from The Financial Times Ltd, Number One Southwark Bridge, London, SE1 9HL, Great Britain (“polyfill.io”). If you have activated Java-Script in your browser and have not installed a Java-Script blocker, your browser may transmit personal data to polyfill.io. 5 Social Media Plugins

Plugins from various third-party providers of social media platforms (Facebook, Google, YouTube, Twitter, etc.) may be integrated into the website. When visiting the website, these plugins may automatically transmit data to the third-party providers.

5.1 Facebook-Plugins (Like Buttons)

Plugins from the social network Facebook Inc., 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”) are integrated on our pages. When you visit our pages, the plugin creates a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook will thereby know that you have visited our site with your IP address. 5.3 YouTube

Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The pages is operated by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (“YouTube”). When you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. The YouTube server is informed about which of our pages you have visited.

The revocation must be sent to the e-mail address sales@zucker.ch. In order to be able to process your requests to exercise your rights, you might be obliged to identify yourself, so that we can clearly identify you.

In Switzerland, there is no right of appeal to a supervisory data protection authority. If the GDPR is applicable, there is a right of appeal to the competent responsible supervisory data protection authority.

To protect your data, we have implemented numerous technical and organizational measures to ensure that the personal data processed via this website is as secure as possible. Please note that communication by e-mail, fax, mobile phone or Internet applications involves risks such as the possibility of viewing the content of the communication, its modification or loss.
